Last week, SPIE (The international society for optics and photonics) officially approved a creation of its student chapter in Saint-Petersburg University.

The students' initiative of Institute of Chemistry was also supported by administration.

We invite everyone to become a part of the team, as well as to learn more about the society, conditions and to ask questions.

The first meeting of future SPIE student chapter at St Petersburg University will be held on May 15 at 5:30 pm in Institute of Chemistry, room #237.

If your research team deals with optical methods or your research objects are sensitive to light, the students have an opportunity to join the SPIE chapter in SPbU. Initiative students who are ready to organize events are also welcome.

SPIE provides funding for students to conduct the young scientist conferences, series of lectures, excursions, science festivals, and trainings. Membership also allows each student to apply for SPIE individual grants on a competitive basis, as well as to receive discounts on participation in conferences.
