Andrey S. Smirnov

foc Smirnov ASAndrey was born in Leningrad (USSR) in 1981. He studied chemistry at the Russian State Pedagogical University named after Alexander Herzen and obtained his Ph.D. under supervision of Prof. Valentina Berestovitskaya. His Ph.D. work is dedicated to transformations of halogenated nitroalkenes. After four years of working for ASISChem Inc. In September 2013, he moved to Prof. Vadim Kukushkin’s group at the Saint Petersburg State University (Russia) where he is currently a researcher.

His research interests include application of zinc and copper complexes for organic reactions.
